Fielding Run Value (FRV) explained
Baseball Savant’s retained accumulated defensive run value, with source coverage kept separate from position-specific rates and comparisons.
Definition and interpretation
The provider’s retained season Fielding Run Value total; do not add its constituent run components again.
Positive values represent defensive runs above average. Source season totals are separate from exact-position FRV rates and from OAA-derived range runs.
Coverage and limits
Capture time is not a verified game cutoff. DRS is a separate provider metric. Pitcher FRV is not measured, and source totals are not automatically simulation inputs.
